description: >-
Cross-harness long-term memory for Hermes: injects a byte-stable memory
snapshot each turn, exposes harnmem_write/search/read/forget/status tools, and
can extract new memories when a session ends. Memories are plain Markdown under
~/.harnmem, shared with the pi, Claude Code, Codex, opencode, DSH,
Grok, Cursor and omp adapters; the engine itself never opens a network connection.
Disclosure — with auto-extract enabled the plugin sends the session transcript
to the OpenAI-compatible endpoint you configure, runs a local Node.js child
process for every memory operation, and spawns a short-lived detached extractor
at session end. The extraction key is read through Hermes' secret scope; the
plugin collects no telemetry.

known_issues:
- Extraction needs a plain OpenAI-compatible endpoint; gateways that require proprietary headers are not supported yet (custom headers are a follow-up shared with the CLI).
