Junio C Hamano d17a7db822 Merge branch 'mc/status-index-lock' ...

The 'git status' command has been optimized to acquire the index
lock only when writing the updated index, rather than holding it
during the entire working tree traversal, avoiding lock
contention. Index validation has also been improved to use stat
data to detect concurrent modifications when 'index.skipHash' is
enabled.

  status: lock the index only to write it
  read-cache: verify skipHash index by stat data
